Moving Company
A Company which  according to their licenses can provide quotes and the Moving and storage services them self.
Shipper
The person (customer) whose goods are being moved.
Carrier
The Moving Company providing the transportation of your household goods. and have the operating authority. Operating Authority: Certification issued by a state or federal governmental entity authorizing a carrier to move household goods between designated geographical areas.
Agent
An affiliated moving company authorized to act on behalf of a motor carrier/moving company.
Booking Agent
The agent who Writes and accepts the order for your move.
Bill of Lading
The receipt for your goods and the contract for their transportation. It is your responsibility to understand the bill of lading before you sign it. If you do not agree with something on the bill of lading, do not sign it until you are satisfied that it is correct. The bill of lading is an important document. Don't lose or misplace your copy.  Your signature acknowledges that your goods have been loaded on the moving van and "released to the carrier".
Order for Service
The document authorizing the mover to transport your household goods. Must be attached to every Bill of Lading.
Binding/Non-Binding Estimate
A binding estimate is an agreement made in advance with the mover that guarantees the total cost of the move based on the quantities and services shown on the estimate. A non-binding estimate is the carrier's approximation of the cost based on the estimated weight of the shipment and the accessorial services requested. A non-binding estimate is not binding on the carrier and the final charges will be based on the actual weight and tariff provisions in effect.
Estimate
An professional assessment as to the truck space, or the weight of your household goods, assessments of accessorial services and the total of a Binding or Non-Binding Estimate cost.
Accessorial Services
Any other charge in addition to the basic transportation charges. Basic charges are Usually, either an hourly rates or the price per BL or Cub Ft'''  The following considered Accessorial services, packing, unpacking, an extra pickup, a long carry, an elevator carry, etc. Accessorial services are charged in addition to linehaul transportation charge.
Inventory
The detailed descriptive list of your household goods showing the number and condition of each item. read the condition marked by the movers next to the items very carefully before signing the inventory list.
Storage-In-Transit (SIT)
Temporary warehouse storage of your shipment pending further transportation.
Valuation
The degree of "worth" of the shipment. The valuation charge compensates the mover for assuming a greater degree of liability than that provided for in the base transportation charges. Valuation usually associated with additional premium.
Carrier's Minimum Liability For Loss or Damage
The liability that the Carrier assumes for your belongings. This amount can be as Same as $0.30 per pound per article been lost or totally damaged. or $0.60 per pound per article for Interstate moves. this minimum Carrier's liability is part of your basic charges. and it does not cover the real value of an article.
Tariff
The carrier rates provisions, for every aspect of moving a shipment from one location to another.
Claim
Shipper's statement of loss or damage to any of his or her household goods while they were in the care of the carrier. Such a statement is generally made on a "Claim Form".provided by the moving company upon request.
Shuttle
When your delivery van is unable to make a normal pickup/delivery because of physical constraints and a second, smaller, vehicle is needed, this is considered A Shuttle Service. it will accrued when a reasonable walking distance of the pickup or the delivery residence is not available. Charges for the Shuttle service are based on an hourly rate and may include additional truck fee charge.
Bulky Article
Any non ordinary Items, in comparison to usual household articles, some carriers will charge handling such items due to the difficulty of loading and unloading such articles, and their unusual bulk or low weight density. In some cases, an additional "weight additive" is applicable.
C.O.D. (Cash On Delivery)
Shipments when the arraignment is that the  customer pays moving charges at the time of delivery. For  all C.O.D. deliveries , payment is required in cash, traveler's check,  post office money order, cashier's check. Personal checks are usually will not accepted for payment for C.O.D. arraignment.
Elevator Charge
A charge to compensate the carrier for the additional  time involved due to elevator.
Flight Carry or Stairs
A charge to compensate the carrier for the additional labor and time required to move a shipment up or down flights of stairs which lead to or from an origin or destination residence.
Long Carry
A charge assessed when a shipment must be moved more than ?__ feet (blank space depends on the moving company tariff) from the rear of the moving van to the entrance of the residence.
Extra Stop
If an extra pickup or delivery is required for a truck at either the pickup place/origin or the delivery/destination (other than the main pickup or delivery address an extra charge is assessed.
Survey/Visual Estimate
A representative personally inspects the shipper's goods at his home to rate the cost of the shipment..
